SCARECROW - 1972

Peu de temps avant les procès de sorcières de Salem, une vieille femme qui a apprit la sorcellerie s'acoquine avec le Diable pour donner vie à un épouvantail pour accomplir sa revanche contre le juge qui a déjà été son amant. L'inspiration du scénario de cette pièce télévisée semble être une nouvelle de Nathaniel Hawthorne publiée en 1852, adapté en 1973 en bande dessinée chez DC Comics sous le crayon d'Alex Nino. Just before the Salem Witch Trials, an embittered old woman, who has learned witchcraft, teams up with the Devil, and brings a scarecrow to life as part of her diabolical revenge on the judge who was once her lover. The teleplay looks like an adaptation of Nathaniel Hawthorne's 1852 short story "Feathertop :A Moralized Legend", which was adapted in comics with artist Alex Nino in Forbidden Tales of the Dark Mansion #15 in 1973.
