NYAMI NYAMI aka ZAMBEZI RIVER GOD

C'est au Zimbabwe, dans la Vallée de Zambezi, que réside le dieu le plus important des Tonga. Lors de la construction du barrage de Kariba, Nyami Nyami a été séparé de son épouse et depuis ce temps on lui attribue les tremblements de terre dans la région. The Nyami Nyami, or Zambezi Snake spirit, is one of the most important gods of Tonga people. The Tonga believe the building of the Kariba Dam deeply offended Nyami Nyami, separating him from his wife.
