Call for Submissions
YoungCuts, the
Premiere Showcase for Great Short Films by the Best Young Film Makers
25 and under, is now accepting submissions for the 2009 YoungCuts
Film Festival.
The Early-Bird
Deadline is March 15th, 2009.
The Regular
Deadline is May 15th, 2009.
(We do accept
films after May 15th, but the later we receive a film the less chance
that it has of being chosen or of being nominated for prizes.)
The top 100
films will be announced near the end of July and will be presented in
Montreal at Cinema du Parc from Friday, September 25th to Thursday,
October 1st, 2009. The Opening Gala will be held Thursday, September
24th, 2009. More details to be announced closer to the Festival.
YoungCuts
annually awards prizes in more than a dozen categories including, but
not limited to Best Film, Best French Film, Best Director, Best
Editor, Best Teen Film, Best Documentary (sponsored by Canadian TV
broadcaster High Fidelity HDTV), Best Animated Film, Best Original
Music and Best Short Short (film under five minutes).
Past
participants in YoungCuts have gone on to successful careers in the
film and television industry and YoungCuts has been able to get some
of our alumni their first television broadcast opportunity.
